Early Literacy Playgroups
Our Early Literacy Playgroups offer an engaging opportunity for parents and caregivers to join their child in games, songs, and stories as we lay the foundation for a lifelong love of literacy.
Forge Education Literacy Services in Lake Oswego is known for providing outstanding, evidence-based reading and writing instruction to individuals ages 5 through adult.

Set Your Child Up for Literacy Success
Forge Education’s early literacy playgroups build a robust foundation for future readers and writers.
During class, you’ll learn fun and practical ways to support your child’s early literacy development through games, songs and stories. Our experts will guide you in creating simple daily routines to build your child’s vocabulary, print awareness and comprehension skills.
Between classes, use strategies learned in playgroup to spark curiosity and inspire a love of language.
Oral language (speaking and listening)abilities are the best predictor of future reading and spelling skills.
Preschoolers are often unintentionally taught incorrect letter sounds, pencil grip, or letter formation, which can lead to difficulties later on.
In 2024, 61% of 3rd graders in Oregon did not meet reading and writing (ELA) achievement standards based on national testing.
Reading ability in first grade strongly predicts reading ability in later grades.
